OBLIGATION

Obligation..."something you must do because of a law, rule, promise", "an act or course of action to which a person is morally bound, a duty or commitment".  "The state, fact, or feeling of being indebted to another for a special service or favor received."

Each and every Elected Official, whether it be City/State/Federal, has an "Obligation" to the MAJORITY Voters in that elected official's governing locale to fulfill the commitment and promise that the elected official made when representing their specific/overall platform.

Each and every legal registered voter who voted, each and every legal citizen of the US, should expect these "Obligations" to be met, or at a minimum, to be continuously pursued during the course of that Elected Official's term in their respective government positions.

Each and every Elected Official is accountable to the voter's to fulfill the commitments and promises they represented to the voter's during their respective campaign's.

Each and every voter must hold the Elected Official accountable for the commitments and promises the Elected Official represented during their campaign which provided the basis for being elected.

Simple, fair, reasonable expectations.  We deserve this much, as a minimum, from our Elected Officials.

Instead...

Individual and Party Agenda's are being pursued which have no similarities to the commitments and promises made during the election process.
Political Parties are changing party goal's and platforms based upon influences created by the Press, protest groups, lobbyists, foreign country pressures, rumor's, and political advisor's who have played the "game" so long, they no longer understand who they serve.
Our Congressional Representatives first priority is to their individual careers, not to the voters who elected them and they have become the opposition to the President's "elected" agenda.

We, the voter's and legal citizens of the United States, are being deceived by our Elected Officials who feel they have no "Obligation" to fulfill the commitments and promises they made to us in return for our support and vote.  These Elected Officials are indebted to the voters for the favor they received by way of our votes. It matters not that we are Democrats/Republicans/Libertarians/Independents. We are all part of one country, The United States of America, and our votes are being wasted and ignored by the very Elected Officials that we have selected through our Democratic process.

Today we are witnessing a combination of corruptness and stupidity from our government that will result in tearing this country apart.  Instead of the focus being on jobs, economy, healthcare, taxes, and elimination of terrorism, our Elected Officials are spreading rumors, sabotaging efforts, lying to the American people, playing party politics, and showing the world again that we are not the World Leaders that they desperately want us to be today.

This country has suffered greatly due to the poor Government Leadership over the past 28 year period.  Both Democratic and Republican Leadership have failed.  They have failed to do two things. They have failed to work together as a Team, and they have failed to recognize and meet the "Obligations" they have to us, the citizens of the United States.

Both parties have lied, they have deceived, they have stolen, they have committed numerous crimes which any one of us as citizens would have been prosecuted and convicted without hesitation.

The real concern?  Why are we, the voters not demanding accountability for the Elected Leaders "Obligations" that they have as a result of our votes?
Our country is better than what we have experienced for the last 28 years, and what we continue to experience today.  Friends are fighting friends, neighbors are not talking to each other, families are divided, and it is all attributable to our failed leaders.

This has to change now, or we will fail as a country.

The solution?  Demand accountability from our Congressional Representatives, our Senators, and our President.  Stop the rumors, stop the backstabbing, prosecute criminals when crimes are committed, remove politicians who violate our rules/laws, and stop tolerating the governments arbitrary interpretation of the Constitution.

Corrosion of Public Respect

When did the obligation of all individuals and organizations to be ACCOUNTABLE become obsolete?

Accountability, responsibility, answerability, culpability....all words which increasingly are being ignored and forgotten as obligations in our role as members of society.

We have largely become a society of "followers", led by individuals who feel no obligation nor any willingness to accept responsibility, practice accountability, and who avoid being answerable to the citizenship.
These "individuals", that I will refer to loosely as " leaders", who determine the curriculum and methods of educating our children, who manage and guide the companies which employ our workforce, and who lead our government and determine the policies/budgets that will drive our lifestyles, are, for the most part,  failing in meeting their basic responsibilities.

We see examples every day of ethical and moral abuse in our government, in business, in our cities, in our schools, and in our neighborhoods.

We view daily accounts of events and activities reported in all forms of media that reveal failures by our leadership to be responsible for what they do and to provide satisfactory reason for their actions.

But let's stop right there......

It is our role as "followers", as "spectators", as "citizens", however you want to categorize us... to hold our leaders ACCOUNTABLE.
That is our responsibility as members of society to demand accountability and to ensure that culpability is determined, properly answered, and, in some cases, legally prosecuted.

We must fulfill our responsibility to our families, friends, and society to hold our educational leaders, business leaders, and government leaders accountable for their decisions/actions/inaction.  Accepting outcomes, accepting mediocrity, accepting deceit, accepting failure without holding leadership answerable is unacceptable.  Yet we are doing this daily.

We have choices.  We possess the ability to make change.

Our Vote in elections can and will affect change.  Our vote to not accept poor education results will affect change.  Our choice to not consume products and services will affect change.

We can not continue down this path we are currently headed.  Change must occur now.

ACCOUNTABILITY must again be the priority.

Decision 2016

2016 Presidential Debates...What did we learn?

Finally, the third and final debate is now in the rear view mirror and we can now try to get our individual  feelings and emotions in check to enable us to make a decision on what our countries direction will be for the next four years, and who will lead us in that direction.

What will your "Decision Making Process" entail ?  Have you thought this step through with the attention it requires?  Do you have your list of questions that you need answered before you make this important decision? Have you identified what is necessary for your family, your friends, your country, and mankind to move forward and not merely exist but grow/communicate/set and achieve goals/have and realize dreams/participate in life/ make an impact on someone, something?
Are your values and principles clearly identified to be able to allow you to determine what is and what is not acceptable?

The information, which will provide the answers to your questions, which will provide the basis for your conclusions, is overwhelming in volume but underwhelming in substance.  It is up to us to take this mountain of information, evaluate it, dissect it, and verify it. Then apply it's relevence to your questions and to your principles and equate these into your answers.

OR....

We can watch and listen to our favorite propaganda news channel, follow blindly their selected version of reality, follow their agenda and cast, or should i say "throw away", your vote to the candidate they deem electable.

What is your version of reality?  What is your agenda? What is important to you, your family, your friends, your country and mankind?

People, we need to assume the responsibility of being a human being and quit allowing others to take that from us.  This responsibility requires us to be totally accountable, to respect our friend and foe, to devote the necessary time and effort in all endeavors to ensure outcomes and decisions consider as many variables as possible, and to listen and allow others to communicate what they deem to be important and relevant to the issues and challenges we face.

Right now, for most of us, we are merely spectators.  The "game" is being played by others.  We all have opinions, we all have answers, we all have solutions.  But we are not heard nor are we relevant....UNTIL.....our support and vote is needed for those playing the game to win.

Our support, our vote, is the single most powerful influence we will have in determining our direction.  BUT ONLY if we fulfill our responsibility to devote the time and energy to do the research, to evaluate the rhetoric, to find answers to our questions, to define our values and principles and demand our leaders meet those expectations, and to demand that a condition of our support/vote is accountability for promises and commitments made by the "players/candidates".

The importance of this decision in front of us cannot be overstated.

We have flawed candidates, just as we are all flawed.  However, two of these candidates were chosen by their respective parties through a popular vote and appointed delegate selection process. We only have ourselves to blame for that selection.

We, however, are tasked with the responsibility to make the "right decision".  A decision that will determine what opportunities our children and grandchildren will have in their future.  A decision that will determine this countries prosperity, or lack thereof.  A decision that will affect peoples freedoms worldwide.  A decision that we will be totally accountable for when we have to answer the questions of our children and grandchildren, years from now, when they ask "how did we get to where we are"?
